A Custom kitchen lighting comparison was set up to show the difference in light output, energy Draw and Heat generated by both units being compared.  Comparison clearly shows the set up of a typical Halogen Puck ( Yellow Light out put) VS the New LED Recessed Light Module.   Both systems registered ambient start temp of 72f after 15min both systems had stabilized in Heat output. Halogen registered 451 degrees at surface of Puck while LED registered 103 degrees, Light output Via a Calibrated Lumen Meter shows that Halogen put out 66 Lumen at 18” to surface in localized spot while the LED system put out 74 overall the counter surface area. Halogen system draws 50 watts VS LED system of 7.5 watts. Halogen was switch “off” “on “ only where LED system  incorporated New Wild Ideas DC Dimming Décor Style 3 Button Switch Plate.

Points to ponder:

Halogen= burned fingers if touched, cooked fruit or counter top due to excess heat and UV/Infrared Light output, melted product inside cabinet, High energy draw and not readily dimmable.

LED System= Clean inviting light output No UV/Infrared, Brighter, 75% Less energy, compact sizing and infinite dimming range.
